Position Summary
The Assistant Carpenter supports skilled craftsmen by performing assigned tasks under immediate supervision. This role helps with material handling, job site preparation, installation support, and general cleanup to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
Tasks May Include:
- Loading and unloading building materials
- Assisting carpenters with laying out work
- Assisting with lifting, positioning, securing, and cutting materials during installation
- Cleaning work areas and equipment
- Ensuring work areas remain stocked with needed materials
- Assisting other craft workers as needed
Skills and Requirements:
- Experience with framing, structural carpentry, and finish carpentry preferred
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, including saws, drills, and nail guns
- Knowledge of construction materials
- Strong verbal and basic digital communication skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Strong customer service mindset
